FAQ

What types of sheet music can it read?

Standard printed staff notation (treble and bass clef). Guitar tabs and jianpu (numbered notation) are not supported.

Can it read handwritten sheet music?

Usually not. The recognition engine (Audiveris) is built for printed notation; handwritten scores mostly come out incomplete or wrong. Engraved or printed scores, photographed flat in good light, work best.

What do I get after scanning?

An editable digital score (MusicXML), a MIDI file of the same notes, and a summary: key, time signature, number of bars and the lyrics it read.

Can I import the score into Sibelius or Finale?

Yes — the output is standard MusicXML which opens in Sibelius, Finale, MuseScore, and most notation software.

Who owns what I create?

You do. We never train models on your work.

Is it free to try?

Yes — new accounts get free credits. Generating signs you in; paid plans add more monthly credits.
