Funk

Slap bass, tight horns, syncopation you feel in your hips.

Funk is about the groove: syncopated slap or finger bass, tight, choppy rhythm guitar, punchy horns and drums that lock everything to the one. To get it on Melunox, describe the groove and the band — “funk, slap bass, brass section, groovy” or “disco funk, wah guitar, soulful vocal” — since words like tight, groovy or danceable help more than the genre name alone.
